One Dead After Early Monday Apartment Fire in Baltimore

One person was found dead early Monday morning after a second-story apartment in Mount Vernon caught fire, the Baltimore City Fire Department said on social media.

The fire that began after midnight on the 900 block of North Calvert Street prompted crews to evacuate three apartment units where six residents lived, the department said on the social media platform X.

No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was still under investigation, the post says.
