Experiencing the life of a firefighter paramedic by going on ride-alongs with his cousins convinced Ramona resident Nick Naiman to forge a career in the profession, reports Ramona Sentinel.

The opportunities he and other students had to take the Red Cross’s CPR, first aid, and lifeguard training helped them get jobs and launched Naiman into taking an emergency medical technician (EMT) class.

That year he attended Palomar College’s Fire Academy and in 2015 Naiman become a reserve with the San Diego County Fire Authority.
