Sherman Oaks (CA) Lithium-Ion Battery Fire Jumps from Carport to Apartment Complex

An fire erupted in Sherman Oaks late Tuesday night, spreading from a carport to an apartment complex, according to NBCLA.

The fire broke out around 10:40 p.m. near Loma Avenue and Camarillo Street, where five vehicles parked in the carport became fully engulfed in flames. Los Angeles City Firefighters reported that lithium batteries, likely from electric vehicles, contributed to the fire’s intensity.

The flames quickly spread to the nearby apartment building, prompting residents to evacuate. There were no reports of injuries.
