FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI – Two firefighters were injured while responding to a fire Sunday night, Feb. 9, in the 3000 block of Flushing Road.
Each of the firefighters was taken to a local hospital, treated and released the same night, said Captain Tim Nestor. Neither of them sustained major injuries.
Fire crews were called out to the scene around 11:30 p.m. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the building.
Crews conducted two searches of the building and confirmed nobody was inside. The fire caused “extensive damage” inside of the building, according to a news release from the Flint Township Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
