Gary Morris, fire chief of the Pine-Strawberry Fire District and a contributor to Fire Engineering and other Clarion Fire-Rescue properties, went missing on a four-day hike in the wilderness; search operations are expected to continue for him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and the department.

In other news, a report on the 2017 Grenfell Tower Fire in London criticized the city’s fire brigade for its response to the deadly fire. California residents continued to deal with massive power outages aimed at curbing fire risk.
