Relief Lieutenant 5th District, Chicago (IL) Fire Department

RICHARD STACK has been in the fire service for 25 years, six years with the Glen Ellyn (IL) Volunteer Fire Company and the past 19 with the Chicago Fire Department (CFD). As a firefighter with the CFD, he was assigned to Engine 72, Engine 63, and Squad 5. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in December 2015 and is a relief lieutenant in the 5th District. He has a bachelor’s degree in fire service management from Southern Illinois University. He is an instructor at the Chicago Fire Academy and at the Illinois Fire Service Institute, where he has been teaching in the officer development, structural collapse, RIT under fire, FAST, fire college, smoke divers, leadership development and decision making, engine operations, and truck operations programs since 2006. He is a member of IL-TF1.
