COLLAPSE RESCUE FOR THE FIRE SERVICE

Fire Engineering Books and Videos: Six-tape video series. Introduces the collapse-rescue process using terms and language as defined in NFPA 1470, Standard for Collapse Rescue. The first tape, “Building Construction and Collapse,” includes the four construction classes, four NFPA Operational Levels, and signs of collapse. The second tape, “Collapse Causes and Types,” includes collapse causes, building loads, construction weaknesses, and five types of collapses. The third tape, “Strategic Considerations of Structural Collapse,” includes the four steps of collapse response and the five stages of rescue. (The last three tapes will be out later in the year.)
