Crew Rescues Trapped Firefighter from Diamond Lake WA House Fire

A firefighter who fell through a floor during a house fire in Diamond Lake (WA) was rescued by a fire crew from Pend Orielle Fire District, reports KREM.com.

The homeowner had been working on a remodel project and all of the smoke alarms were not plugged in.

He called for help but investigators said that the crew took awhile to report to the fire scene as they are comprised of volunteers.

Crews aggressivley attacked the fire when they got to the scene.  At one point, a firefighter was on the ground level of the home when the floor gave way.  He fell one story into the basement.  His fellow firefighters reacted quickly and got him out of the home.

Medics took the firefighter to the hospital with minor injuries.  The homeowner was also treated at a local hospital for smoke inhalation.
