In January 2012, Darley launched a new Web site aimed at homeowners, businesses, and just about any organization looking to prepare for emergency situations. According to Darley estimates, natural, technological, and terrorist acts have significantly increased over the past 30 years.
According to Executive Vice President & COO Peter Darley, “We recognize this trend and found that there was no company, with the emergency response background of Darley, focused on this vast market.”
Darley’s new Web site is unique because it features equipment for almost any kind of disaster or emergency situation. Customers can easily locate the equipment they need by the type of disaster they are anticipating. According to Darley Web Department Manager, Joe Catania, “A customer can search keywords such as Tornado, Earthquake, Hurricane, etc., and find just the equipment needed for that incident.”
Darley has never marketed its products to the “masses,” according to a Darley press release, so the new Web site represents a change in their business approach. Darley is currently in discussions with several major federal government organizations that are looking at partnership links available on the new Darley site, www.homelandsecurityequipment.com.
