Employees of Cleveland Company Evacuated After HAZMAT Scare

A local West Side company had a HAZMAT concern early Friday. Sources say a small fire in the basement of one of the buildings may have caused a chemical reaction and created a steam mixture, reports wkyc.com.

The incident happened at Pittsburgh Plate Glass on West 143rd Street in Cleveland. According to their website, the company is a global supplier of paints, coatings, glass and fiber glass.

Employees were temporarily evacuated while fire and HAZMAT officials investigated the cause. So far, no injuries have been reported.
