Feds Upgrade Probe into Chrysler Jeep Fuel Tank Fires

Federal regulars will be more closely scrutinizing as many as 1.5 million SUVs made by Chrysler after two dozen reports of fires after rear-impact crashes, according to Bloomberg News (http://buswk.co/Lo8s2E).

A report indicates that the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration upgraded a preliminary investigation of Jeep Grand Cherokees and added Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Liberty models with fuel tanks behind the rear axle to an engineering analysis. The upgrade may lead to recalls.
