Fire Incident: Four Killed in Houston (TX) Fire

Four people, including two children, were killed in an early-morning fire at the Walnut Creek Apartments in Houston, Texas. According to a Houston Chronicle report, firefighters were on scene in minutes and located the victims  but they could not be saved, despite the efforts of Houston (TX) Fire Department paramedics. A daughter of one of the victims indicated that both adult occupants were smokers, and charred remains near the head of the bed, suggesting accidental ignition; the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
