WI Firefighter Killed, Four Others Hurt in Collapse

One firefighter was killed and four other were injured Sunday in a building collapse at the historic Abby Theatre in Abbotsford, Wisconsin.

Three firefighters had been treated and released, while another was expected to be treated and released on Sunday evening, according to a report on winsonsinrapidstribune.com (http://wrtnews.co/yYdnmF).

The fire, which was reported around noon on Sunday and took several hours to extinguish, caused the entire roof of the structure to collapse. The fallen ceiling trapped three firefighters inside; two other firefighters were injured by falling bricks.

About 35 firefighters from the Abbotsford, Colby, Dorchester, and Owen-Withee-Curtiss departments responded to the incident. No other injuries were reported.
