Firefighters rescued a woman from a burning home Tuesday during a four-alarm fire that affected multiple structures in Passaic, New Jersey.
The Record reported that the female victim was rescued from the attic of a home and was “banged up” by conscious and hospitalized. Two firefighters suffered heat exhaustion and were taken to a hospital, according to the report.
Fire photographers Ron Johnson and Ron Bombaro had pics and video from the scene.
The fire badly damaged one home and damaged two others, displacing up to 15 people, the report said.
Firefighters arriving at the scene saw a woman leaning out of an attic window screaming for help, and put an aluminum ladder on the side of the house, climbing to the attic with hoses to block the rapidly spreading fire, Fire Chief Patrick Trentacost Sr. told reporters. Numerous other departments provided aid.
