Assistant Charles City (IA) Fire Chief David Boehmer was rescued by colleagues after he was trapped by a trench collapse while working on a new home on Monday, June 28, 2010, according to a local news report. He was conscious and breathing at the time of the rescue and was listed in stable condition as of Monday night.
