NY Firefighters Rescue Cops from Angry Mob

FDNY firefighters used a water cannon to help police officers who were being attacked by an angry, armed mob in front of a Staten Island home yesterday.

According to the New York Post (http://nyp.st/uuPSbJ), the incident began when a 15-year-old girl was allegedly beset by other youths after a prior incident at a school. One youth reportedly had a firearm. Police officers responded to the scene, and a scuffle ensued.

A fire apparatus from Engine Co. 158 in the Mariners Harbor neighbor that was on scene deployed its deck gun and sprayed the legs of the alleged assailants. Nine people were taken into custody, police said.
