Phoenix Firefighters Rescue Two Off Camelback Mountain

Phoenix firefighters went to the Echo Canyon Mountain Trail to rescue one hiker and found another distressed hiker who needed their help as they were hiking down Camelback Mountain, reports azcentral.com (http://bit.ly/1jFYa1F)

Firefighters and rescue crews rescued one man in his 20s and assisted the patient down the hill at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. As they were helping the man down the mountain, firefighters learned of a woman in her 30s who was about three-quarters of the way up the trail who needed help, said Capt. Ruben Saavedra, a Phoenix Fire Department spokesman.

Saavedra said the woman complained of a lower extremity injury and heat exhaustion.

Phoenix fire and police technical rescue crews used a helicopter to pull her off the mountain.
