San Diego County (CA) Hazmat Releases Chemical Suicide Flammability Study

San Diego County (CA) Hazardous Incident Response Team conducted a chemical suicide study with the goal of determining the risk to the public and first responders.

The detergent suicide method has been covered well in most awareness aspects but there has really been limited information as to the potential flammability of the gas that is concentrated in the vehicle, what is the best instrument to use and what to do with the chemical waste.

In the above video you can see how the car is plumbed with 4-gas, PID ect. and the chemical reactions that take place with 1 quart to 1 gallon.

The paper that was produced reviews all of the potential off-site consequences, flammability, disposal of the chemical waste post treatment with concrete can go to the trash, proven in California.
