Miami-Dade (FL) Fire Rescue, in conjunction with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department and other local and federal emergency response agencies conducted a full-scale aviation emergency drill at Miami International Airport (MIA).

Mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration once every three years, the Triennial Airport Emergency Exercise simulates a live emergency scenario on MIA’s airfield in order to test and evaluate the effectiveness of MIA’s emergency plan and its ability to respond in the event of a real-life airfield emergency.
